4R in the News: “4R Certification begins”
Training for the new 4R Certification Program, launched in March, is now underway. Independent auditors are now being trained on how to certify ag retailers in the Western Lake Erie Basin in the 4R Nutrient Stewardship Certification Program, a voluntary effort to reduce the amount of nutrients entering Lake Erie.
Brownfield’s Dave Russell interviewed Carrie Vollmer-Sanders, the Western Lake Erie Basin Project Director for the Nature Conservancy, as the training was set to kick off.
Vollmer-Sanders gave an overview of the program, shared what the auditors will be doing and how certification will take place.
