4R in the News: More details about “4R Certification 4U” Workshop for Farmers and Service Providers

David Russell from Brownfield Ag News recently interviewed Carrie Volmer Sanders, chair of the 4R Nutrient Stewardship Council, to learn more about the Dec. 12 “4R Certification 4U” workshop for both farmers and nutrient service providers to be held in northwest Ohio.
Vollmer-Sanders told Russell morning sessions will be held for both farmers and service providers, and provided more details in an audio interview Russel posted to Brownfield’s website.
“The farmers can go to a specific session, geared towards helping them on their own farm and understand what the 4Rs are and what certification means to them,” Vollmer-Sanders said. “Then there’s an ag business, or nutrient service provider session and that session is going to go through sort of a “how to” become certified.”
Topics to be covered during the workshop include “4R Conservation Program Cost Share Opportunities,” “What are Edge of Field Studies Telling Us?” and an update on Lake Erie’s water quality in 2014.”
The workshop will be held Friday, December 12 at the Holiday Inn – French Quarter in Perrysburg, Ohio.
